Salem is located approximately 60 miles south of Salt Lake City, 15 miles south of Provo, and 3 miles south of Spanish Fork on Utah State Road 198 (Historic Highway 6). Salem was founded in 1851 and now has a population of about 5,000.
Salem City is finally able to purchase Strawberry Water Shares, that are delivered through the Salem Canal or the Highline Canal, for use in our Pressurized Irrigation System. We have very limited time and limited funds for these purchases. If you are interested in keeping this water in Salem City for use please contact the City office as soon as possible. Thank you to those who have sold these share to the City. These will go a long ways toward keeping water rates as low as possible in Salem City.
